- Two (2) minutes to:
- Read your highlighted excerpt to your partner, and
- Listen as your partner reads their highlighted excerpt to you.
- Discuss the two excerpts.
- With your partner, co-author and write a sentence or two on the whiteboard about what you think is the primary thesis of the chapter

Koretz Test Prep Block Party Process
- Distribute quotes to the students and give them a minute to read and reflect;
- Set up a circle of 7 chairs and invite 7 students to sit down;
- Invite the rest of the students to stand in front of one of the seated students.
- On my mark, students are asked to share both quotes and then engage in some discussion about what they think is the primary thesis of the chapter. (2minutes)
- The standing students move to the next chair and repeat step 4. (2minutes)
